[opensuse] CPU speed

I have a PC with a AMD Athlon processor on a MSI motherboard K7T-266-PRO 
from 2001
In openSUSE 10.2 sysinfo gave as speed 1.199,81 MHz
After upgrade to 10.3 it gives only 900,12 MHz
My questions; What happened and what can I do to restore the old speed?
