You can easily do what you ask if you switch to "smart" for updates
instead of the standard suse tools under yast. I have invoked the option
of keeping all my updated or new rpms for about the past 12mths. This
was in case I ever needed to build a duplicate system with all the
latest packages or if needing to rebuild a stuffed system from scratch.
I'm stuck on dialup and the thought of having to download Gbs of files
to come up to date (from that offered on my install dvd) was too much to
think about.
