Bought my computer with a Radeon 7000. That could not support my 1600x1200 screen, then bought a 9200 that worked well with the propriatary ATI drivers, then after just one year, ATI decided to drop support for this "old card" in new versions of x.org.
Now I finally got an Nvidia. Installation took less than 10 minutes to get 3D and compiz perfectly working and I finally got some time to smile about all the ATI problems that are discussed on this list. ;-) Having been burned, I definitely will not touch ATI for the foreseeable future. kind regards Eberhard -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
