Hmm. It seems like experience of someone running OS from the swap.
Buying more RAM, can reduce hard disk activity.

So you think the repository is going to keep the ENTIRE
database of files in RAM???  If not, then we're back to
multi-millisecond delays for each and every seek performed
by a disk drive read/write head.
