I'm not really convinced about the appearance: it looks a bit cluttered with the small and big icons and small and big text. Personal impression, of course.
I would give, e.g. the hardware section a structure with a few often used icons on the left and a "more" button to the right which allows to make more hardware visiable and activate/promote more hardware to appear on the left as a icon. And the user should be also able to hide unused icons/hardware behind the "more" button. Rearranging the icons by the user would be nice too.
