Gnome renames 'label' to 'name' and then uses 'volume name' as a display name. I had them all confused. To make a long story short and to keep from confusing everyone, I now have all four volumes labeled, named, and mounting in a consistent sequence. Rebooting after making changes helped a lot. Thanks for everyone's help.
