I use only Software Management in Yast2 since I can select
the packages I want and it is doing the dependency checking.

Therefore I added the repository in yast2:
   yast2->Software->Software repositories
Hit the "Add" button:
Protocol: http
Server: download.opensuse.org
Directory: /repositories/Education:/desktop/openSUSE_10.3/
