I enjoy ADSL since last year, but it's slow for USA servers.
For Portugal it can do 100 KB/s ~ 1Mb/s.

Good advice! I added openSUSE-10.3-FTP 10.3
/pub/opensuse/distribution/10.3/repo/oss/
on cesium.di.uminho.pt (Braga univ)
and it works fine.
