All -

I've been told I need to recompile my OpenSuse 10.3 kernel to attempt to compensate for a network problem under the Xen kernel, until the next kernel is released.

This is a skill I should have, but I've never done this before.

I"ve built software, know how to use make, and have the kernel-sources installed.

Can anyone tell me the command sequence to build the kernel, or point me to a reference for OpenSuse specifically?

I've also been told I need to use the "current configuration" in /proc/config.gz. Can anyone shed light as to how this fits in to the build process?

Thank you so much for your help with my lack of experience on this matter.
