Actually they are in /var/log/boot.msg
From what I can tell from what she wrote Linda is already familiar
with /var/log/boot.msg as well as /var/log/boot.log .. many errors are
syslogged to messages during the boot process including many
failures. I usually hit /var/log/messages up first for boot time
error problems, then work through boot.msg and boot.log. Usually I
have a good idea of what I am looking for as well. I could be wrong
but hey variety (and thus discovery) is the spice of life no? :)
