I updated my KDE4 installation from RC1 to RC2 (which is slated as the final
RC before the release of KDE4 on Janurary 11th).

I just thought I would give my two cents.

I think the KDE 4 is coming along pretty well and plasma integration is
getting better every release. I have a few gripes.

This is RC2, the final RC as I stated above yet no KDM integration? Does that
mean there will be no user testing for KDM prior to its release?

Will anyone from the KDE team every explain what limitations the Plasma Panel
(Kickers Replacement) will have?

The "Button" Plasmoid is useless as you cannot configure it for anything.

When I "Install New Wallpapers", it doesn't put them in the folder that is
browsed by default. So why even have that feature? Now the person has to try
and track it down.

There is no Administrator Mode. Which basiclly keeps a normal user from
changing alot of functions that need root priviliges.

Dolphin is looking fabulous. but then you click on "Network" and you see a
horrible scaled Icon in the "Information" tab.. That ruined my happiness.
Then you change icon's of a bunch of your folders and you see those aren't
very nicely scaled either.

I've done what I can with my testing and entered in many bug reports to try to
keep involved and help the project get more polished.

I just hope they really polish it before the Jan 11th release because I am
really excited to try it, but will probably not try it on my production
machine until KDE 4.1 (When Amarok is polished and stable etc).

Thank you for anyone that actaully got to this point.

Ben
