I can only guess that all but .wk3 predate unicode by at least 10 years, and
that .wk3 likely wouldn't support it either. First thing to do is try writing
a simple .wk1 with OO and see if Excel can read or write it.

IIRC, upthread you wrote CSV won't work. Did you try DIF format, or maybe RTF?
