Hello, I hope that this might answer some questions (late but...):
The openSUSE build of OOo-2.3 includes initial implementation of OpenXML import filters for DOCX, PPTX and XLSX. Many features have not been implemented yet, so it loads correctly only simple documents. It is included in both 32-bit and 64-bit packages. You might try the latest version from Build Service: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/UNSTABLE/ I hope that it would improve very fast. As already mentioned. You might use the "OpenOffice OpenXML Translator". It is a MONO-based extension, see http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/. As already mentioned, you might get the current version for OOo at http://download.novell.com/index.jsp?product_id=&search=Search&families=3402&version=&date_range=&keywords=&sort_by=&x=35&y=9 It provides import/export filters for DOCX. We are just porting the latest "OpenOffice OpenXML Translator" version for OpenOffice.org. It will provide import/export filters for DOCX, PPTX, and XSLX. It should be available within the following few weeks. Note: The latest packages OOo-2.3.1 in the Build Service have a bug. They ignore the "OpenOffice OpenXML Translator" if you start the application using the app-specific wrappers (oowriter, ooimpress, oocalc). Unfortunately, these wrappers are associated with these documents in KDE and GNOME. You have to open the document by the Open/Save dialog or using the generic wrapper (ooffice). We are going to fix it in the Build Service ASAP. -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
