Have tried a search on the lists, but searching is down at the moment,
apparently...
I occasionally connect my PC to the TV, using VGA cable and need to be
able to adjust the resolution after connection. My standard monitor runs
at 1680x1050, and obviously this drives the TV spacko when I hook it up.
I start the PC and stipulate VGA at boot, but when I get to login the
resolution is wrong. In 10.2 I was able to CTRL-ALT-+/- to change
resolution, but now can't. Have looked at xorg.conf, and I am too
confused (and too much of a newbie!) to be able to work out the quick
fix. Used to be able to when it was just modes, but totally confused by
modeline etc.......??!!
How can I set this up so I still have the functionality that I used
to...? Hate to say it, but windows works it out automatically, so when
connected to the TV lately have had to use Vista! Help!
