You will see soon that you can't be without Midnight Comander ;-)

You can see inside an rpm and extract or view a single file, you can compress trees into tar.gz archives, connect to a remote ftp server, edit a file (sometimes with syntax coloring), copy or move or delete bunch of files /fast/, search for a pattern on a tree, selecting the files that match for more processing... and many more I forget.
