The http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/10.3  has 
nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default | 169.07_2.6.22.13_0.3-1.1   | i586
x11-video-nvidiaG01       | 169.07-1.1                 | i586
and they are installed, but something went wrong with deinstallation of 
previous (compiled the hard way) drivers, and I had to run compilation again 
to get GUI. 

Is that the same case in David installation?
