There is a page on booting from usb in the wiki,

the name is partially misleading because you can simply boot and not
only install, so I created a new page named
http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Boot_from_USB&redirect=no
this is for now just a redirection, but may be changed soon when the
two pages may diverge
But before going further, I have a question: why is it necessary to
abort install and search manually for iso image, and not boot directly
in the image? (like any CD/DVD)
