I have the same need. What I really want it to have the attachments
saved somewhere, and a link to that place put in the message so I can
find the attachment. This way I can reasonably keep my e-mail backed up,
independent of backing up the much larger attachments.

Please post if you find anything. Have you checked procmail? It is a
Swiss Army knife in this area. I think it is more powerful than the docs
immediately let on.
