The usb subsystem was detected in xp after I sorted out vbox but it won't even pick up a 128Mb stick with a fat partition. A clue is, I restored the ipod on a vista box, but now gtkpod doesn't work anymore so I can't restore the music even. Tried floola too but not much help to be found about mounting the ipod. Dave
