there is a simple commend line utility that has worked for me
try this
zypper sa -r
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/elvigia/openSUSE_10.3/home:elvigia.repo
zypper in flac2mp3
then...
#flac2mp3.pl <sourcedir-with-flac> <destdir>
WARNING: you need the packman repository added to your package manager
as well, otherwise the tool will fail to install due to missing
dependencies, opensuse itself cannot include the "lame" mp3 tool due to
legal reasons.
