an this weekend I'm gonna change my motherboard and expand the RAM from 2GB to 6GB. Main utilization for it would be 2GB for Opensuse and 4GB for Winxp in VMWware. AFAIK I need then the kernel-bigsmp. (http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tip/16262.html) At the moment I use the kernel-default for the for my AMD AM2 Processor. My questions thus are: 1. Are there any issues associated with kernel-bigsmp other than those associated with kernel-default? 2. My swap partition is only 4GB big. Would it be a problem to keep that size for a week or two? What is your experience in working with "too small" swap partition? VMWare uses a physical drive and thus Winxp suppose to use its own pagefile.sys. Are there any other issues in that context I should to consider but I'm not aware of yet? - -- All the best, Peter J.
