I have SUSE 10.3 with 2.6.22.13-0.3-default
A few weeks ago we had a power failure. I have a big UPS and the
machine keeps running.
However, the 10-hour outage exceeded the UPS capacity and so the
machine was off for
day. When I brought it back up I noticed that my Pinnacle TV capture
card (and old one)
no longer was working properly. A channel change would not work for
most channels. A
few channels still worked but not many. The card was so old that it
only had mono-audio output.

I borrowed a newer Pinnalcle card to see if it work as my eventual
goal is to purchase a
HDTV capture card.

However, the newer card hangs my machine on boot and the keyboard
caps/lck and Num/Lck
don't even work. Hard hang.

This is the last few lines that I see on the screen where it hangs.

<6>bttv: driver version 0.9.17 loaded

<6>bttv0: detected: Pinnacle PCTV [bswap] [card=39], PCI subsystem ID

However, I noticed that the boot.omsg log goes on further with the
following added lines:

<6>bttv0: using: Pinnacle PCTV Studio/Rave [card=39,autodetected]

So, I disconnected my USB Video CAM to see if I got a different result
but that did not help.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Cheers,
Bob
