So I'm curenlty diging around to solutions that are
already there.
Our product (SiteVision) supports portlets, and we are currently using the WPS 4.1 Portlet API since it's the base for the Portlet JSR (168). Sites built using our product uses portlets exclusively to render HTML, and customers can plug in their own portlets.
