If you can afford yourself to switch template engines, you could go with
FreeMarker. It can use any JSP taglib out of the box - this means OSCache
and SiteMesh taglibs as well - inside templates. No need to repeat
taglib-like code in a separate plumbing layer for the template engine...

Right now FreeMarker is not a supported WebWork view, but Chris Nockleberg -
FreeMarker developer who appears here from time to time - is working on a
FreeMarker-WebWork integration. I don't know how far did he get with that,
but if he's listening maybe he could give us an update.
