Scott,

Thanks for all the work that you guys put in getting things put back together. I wanted to see if you guys needed a hand with any of the administration stuff. Also, I was interested in setting up cruise control, but I heard that you were looking at that as well. I'd be interested in giving you a hand on this as well as I think the ww/xw projects could really benefit from this.

To let everyone know what is happening with the websites recently.

The server which hosts javablogs, jira.atlassian.com and all the open source JIRA's crashed twice in two weeks, with massive HDD failure. We have now moved to a RAID SCSI box, and in the process of upgrading our backup strategy (to full daily diffs).

Javablogs & jira.atlassian.com are back online. jira.opensymphony is setup, but I need some volunteers to enter some of the issues back into it that were lost when it crashed. Then we will bring it back online.

The box which hosts wiki.opensymphony, opensymphony.com has had nothing wrong with it, apart from Rackspace removing an iptables rule or two. I hope to get a call from them this morning explaining why fixing our mail server required removing all our iptables rules.

The wiki & opensymphony sites should be back up and running fine now. Let me know if that isn't the case for you.

After two solid weeks of server crashed & restoring from backups etc, its really not very fun ;) I pronounce today as 'go and thank your sysadmin' day.

Once again - I apologise for the down time, and the new upgraded boxes should ensure that this doesn't happen again.

Cheers,
Scott

Yes, it's down too. They have been having hardware issues over there the

Hell, can someone else confirm that atlassian.com is also down? Damn, I can't get to the Jira docs!

Cheers, matthew

It's open source, they can write it themselves if they need it.

It seems to be down, along with the wiki and jira for opensymphony.
Hopefully they'll all be restored in the next couple of days.

However, I think this highlights one of the problems with having a
wiki
be the definitive source for documentation. Picture life a couple of
months from now, when there will be some serious projects with very
tight schedules using webwork2, and need to check up on some
docs...which happen to be completely unavailable for 7 days...Not
good.

Is it just me, or is the Opensymphony (www.opensymphony.com) site
down?

Thanks,
