Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: WW-227
Summary: Inconsistent support for Arrays in Iterator tags
       Type: Bug

     Status: Assigned
   Priority: Major

    Project: WebWork
 Components:
             Views
   Versions:
             1.3.1

   Assignee: Patrick Lightbody
   Reporter: Robert Dawson

    Created: Wed, 9 Jul 2003 5:12 PM

Description:
The base iterator tag provides support for arrays, while the other itration tags
(AppendIteratorTag) etc don't.

This stems from the difference in the getIterator method in IteratorFilterSupport and
the convert method in MakeIterator.

Like all testers I will offer a solution in my description ;).

Does anyone see any reason why getIterator doesn't use MakeIterator.convert?

I can see that this kind of change was made in version 1.7 of the IteratorTag, doing
the same to the IteratorFilterSupport would make things more of a joy to use.

I am not familiar enought with WebWork 2 to know how this would fit in with this code
base.
