I'm not saying that EJB's are evil, or anything. Maybe in your case SLSB's are a good choice, especially for implementing a Web Services interface. I would recommend against putting your business logic in SLSB's, though. Instead, use the SLSB's as wrappers around plain Java objects which encapsulate the business logic. It's much more reusable, and if you need to have one service call another, you can do it without having to go through the EJB container.
