I've got a BA in German languages and literature, so there you have it. I think an MA might be more useful in "think-tank" type positions or at a college but in the business world I've rarely seen someone get hired over someone else because of more CS education. Out in the real world, it's experience that counts. How many schools teach about the joys and wonders of deploying a system to production, or dealing with bugs, change requests, and maintenance for years after an initial release? None that I know of.

Depends on where you're working and what you were working on. In general, I'd say work experience, but then I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and no technical degrees whatsoever, so I'm biased :-) > -----Original Message----- > From: James Pan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 12:26 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [OS-webwork] Offtopic: need advice > > > Hello, > > What's your opinion: Master Degree in computers (2 years), or > 2 years of work experience? > > Thank you, > > James > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek > Welcome to geek heaven. > http://thinkgeek.com/sf > _______________________________________________ > Opensymphony-webwork mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/opensymphony-webwork > ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Opensymphony-webwork mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/opensymphony-webwork
