Hi All,

I tried searching for the file but couldn't find it, so decided to try the
/etc/init.d/openthinclient start command and she started. Very strange -
openthinclient is definitely a women as I think I have said before.

Yes Jom, it is the 64 bit version of Ububtu I have installed. Problem appears
to have gone now.

Well gentlemen I am looking at a Welcome to openthin client window.

One of  the contacts about about my slow boot problem on the client suggested a
package that might tell me what the comms is doing on the server. I shall look
for one.

My intention is to create a time line so that I can see where all the seconds
are going. Out of interest I have just rebooted a client. I did not time how
long it took before the Welcome to Thin Client window appeared but it must have
been two or three minutes to reach this point.

From the time I entered the username and password at this screen  it took 5mins
11 secs for the black screen with the pointer to appear ; the window with OS
on it appeared at 5min 40 secs and I got the Thin Client Desktop at 6 minutes.
Hurrah, and it works as well.

I have started the system Monitor on the client which shows :-

CPU usage of 2%
User Memory usage of 81.8 MiB of 496 MiB and a total of 64.2 MiB received using
the units shown.

Once again if anybody has any ideas of what and where to look I shall be
pleased to do it.

Regards and thank you.
The Phoenix has risen again.

Dave
