On that topic...
My original interest in OTC was the anticipation of the Raspberry Pi, a
little US$35 computer that would make a nice thin client platform. It has
an ARM processor, ethernet, video, and a USB port. It's scheduled for
release in November.
I should have noticed earlier, but I figured out eventually: the RPi is ARM,
and OTC supports only x86.
Is there any interest in the development community to make OTC work on this
platform?
My pitch:
At $35 each, for a little tiny box with no moving parts, it seems perfect.
I don't think people would want to futz with recycling old PCs (and working
through their assortment of PXe settings and video drivers) when they could
buy a homogenous solution for $35. I would think the power cost savings
alone would justify the cost.
What say you, OTC community?
