Hi List,
I just installed TTTracklog on my TTOne, and it works like a charm :)
I'm planning to use it as a paragliding flight recorder.

I know that TT is made to work on the streets, and altitude data may
be inaccurate, but I'd like to give it a spin up in the air.

What I found is that there is no setting to fix the altitude according
to the geoid correction[1], so my "trial flight" (fake, by foot) went
all about 40 m over the real altitude.

I don't think to a system that calculates the correction basing on the
GPS coords, it would be too much work for the tiny TT processor. I
think a custom fixed value (maybe in the wrapper) to be added or
subtracted from the NMEA altitude could be enough for the use.

Hi Ulisse ,

Do you know ttMaps ? It is a software for TomTom made for off-road
navigation. You can put your own maps (including aeronautical charts),
record the tracks, and replay them. And the altitudes are corrected.
You can get it at http://jrepetto.free.fr/ttmaps/en/index.html

Jean-Claude

Hi Jean-Claude,
Actually I didn't know ttMaps could record tracks, it seems a good piece of software! Sadly now I have'n enough room on my TT to try it out, for now I'll stay with TTTracklog, but I'll keep it in mind for the future!
Thanks a lot and happy new year!
