The reason for this re-subscription is that the old infrastructure of OpenVAS died and did not come back to live. You expressed your interest in OpenVAS by subscribing to the old mailing list on your own. First steps were to setup from scratch the new infrastructure for OpenVAS. This started in february 2007. Now, even the OpenVAS software developments have come close to first releases and therefore the announcement mailing list is re-activated as the last of the various OpenVAS mailing list. Discussion about OpenVAS takes place at the openvas-discuss mailing list.
