Hello OpenVAS developers,
today we (Michael and myself) will start the big change towards
OTP and OID.
The changes will be applied to trunk, so will not affect the stable
branches. openvas-libraries now needs to be branched as well.
openvas-libnasl may remain as is because it seems we do not
need to change anything there.
However, it does not make sense to create a giant patch to have
this all in one go.
We rather will commit patches step by step. Each will compile,
but very likely the functionality will be broken for a while.
We try to be as quick as possible with this, but it might take a week
or so to have the three modules adapted.
IMHO this preocedure is much more cost efficient than keeping
permanent compatibility.
After that, I think we should release 2.0-beta1.
Initially I had a 1.1-beta1 in mind, but the changes are quite
comprehensive and there will be no compatibily with the 1.0 release
(except for the NVTs of course!).
