I read the compendium and maybe this will interest you, about openvasd service under fedora for instance. This is what I made for a FC6 : - modify tne original nessus script, name it openvasd (see enclosed), install /etc/init.d/openvasd - tests : * /etc/init.d/openvasd status * /etc/init.d/openvasd start * /etc/init.d/openvasd status * /etc/init.d/openvasd restart - add automatically the service for the different runlevels : chkconfig --add openvasd - Put it on : chkconfig openvasd on - test : service openvasd restart
Maybe you've already thought about this, maybe it's an idea to add it in the compendium... It's up to you.
