Just for folks who are curious, here is an update: Projects currently being reviewed: * libssh * cryptlib More are coming. Criteria: * Active development community * Is support easily accessible * Good documentation * Widely available across Linux distributions and other operating systems in binary packages (e.g. RPM, Deb) * Does it build and operate cleanly from source * Protocol 1 and 2 support I'm currently on the "is it available in binary for various OSs and does it build cleanly" part of the evaluation. There are way too many OSs to investigate, so here is where I am focusing my attention: * Centos * OpenSuSE * Ubuntu * Debian * Solaris x86 * OpenSolaris x86 * Mac OS X PPC If you want me to check on another OS in particular, just let me know. It would help to know if anyone on the list is using anything other than what is listed above. --------------------------------- Geoff Galitz Blankenheim NRW, Germany http://www.galitz.org/ http://german-way.com/blog/
