this would bring us significant acceleration for scanning big networks I 
suppose.

One of the challenges is to have ACT_NETWORK not block the scan process for
the single hosts just because of some unfortunate timeout.

We also need to take care to maintain compatibility with older OpenVAS releases.
So that for 3.2 a nmap in ACT_NETWORK is applied and for 2.0 to 3.1 the 
host-based
nmap is applied. I guess this is solved on the NASL side.

Michael: can you prepare a draft patch so that we can play around with this 
feature?
