Calling a project version v4 although none of its components is v4 is somehow 
.... IMHO since it sounds too much of marketing babbling and increasing the 
version just for the sake of it.

How about simply getting rid of any artificial naming system and simply 
bumping the versions as it seems fit component wise or we will have v10 in 6 
years with component versions all over the place from v4 to v8 or so which 
simply doesn't make any sense.
