Hello,
many features were added to OpenVAS to form OpenVAS-5
already. So far it is marked "EXPERIMENTAL" on the download
page.
I think it is time that we can announce "BETA" phase soon.
There are still some new features to come before final OpenVAS-5,
so I am not talking about RELEASE CANDIDATE.
With BETA status I would expect that packaging tests can start
so we learn early about problems on various platforms / library
versions.
On the roadmap before OpenVAS-5 I do see mainly a improvement
of the target specification and some improvements to support
improvements on the NVT side.
The main aim would be to have the final releaes in March 2012.
How do people feel about it here?
When to start BETA?
