ah, silly of me. i should have checked svn. there were a few other
peculiarities which i encountered while building, but i'll wait to
ask about those until i try again with svn. for this purpose, is
trunk appropriate, or should a different branch/tag be used?
i built using trunk from svn - all components appear to build and install
successfully, and the earlier peculiarities seem to be gone.
if it's of any interest, this build was done on ubuntu 12.10, and included the
wmiclient additions.
