You can find them in
/usr/share/openvas/openvasmd/global_report_formats/{uuid_of_report_format}/
PDF plugin:
/usr/share/openvas/openvasmd/global_report_formats/c402cc3e-b531-11e1-9163-406186ea4fc5
it uses pdflatex utility (generate file), and a latex template
(latex.xsl).
