what came to my mind are the shell scripts to create certificates.
Re-writing them from scratch in a more readable and with easier
handlung seems useful.

While doing so we could replace openssl by gnutls certtool.
This would remove the last dependency to openssl and make
the certificate create more readable.
It'll be possible to support both though, if desired, and still
have a unified way of running the scripts. Worth the effort?

Any strong opinion about openssl vs certtool?
