A small correction: The openvas-plugins 1.0.6 tarball contained a buggy NASL script. If you did not do an openvas-nvt-sync before the first server start, this might have corrupted both the server and the client cache. Solution for this case: Stop server and client, delete both caches, restart server. Hope that helped.
