Hmm...is "Client -> Prefs. -> Ping Host -> Mark unrechable Hosts as
dead" unchecked?

If yes, please set "log_whole_attack = yes" in openvassd.conf.

Restart the openvas-scanner.

Start a scan against 192.168.0.1. Wait that the message "The remote host 
(192.168.0.1)
is dead" appears. What plugins have been executed before this message?
