Yeah, I have the om user. Things seem to talk. I just found a thread
from last month with the subject "gsa: How to really start a scan job?"
which points at there being a version skew between GSA and
openvas-manager.

Digging through my own logs, I do see a mention of this that I ought
have noticed:

  md main: DEBUG:2010-04-06 16h40.30 EDT:23584: sql: SELECT oid, version,
name, summary, description, copyright, cve, bid, xref, tag, sign_key_ids, ca
  tegory, family FROM nvts WHERE family = 'Service detection' EXCEPT SELECT
oid, version, nvts.name, summary, description, copyright, cve, bid, xref, tag, s
  ign_key_ids, category, nvts.family FROM nvt_selectors, nvts WHERE nvts.family
= 'Service detection' AND nvt_selectors.name = '54b45713-d4f4-4435-b20d-304c
  175ed8c5' AND nvt_selectors.family = 'Service detection' AND
nvt_selectors.type = 2 AND nvt_selectors.exclude = 1 AND nvts.oid ==
nvt_selectors.family_or_
  nvt ORDER BY nvts.name ASC;

  md   main:WARNING:2010-04-06 16h40.30 EDT:23584: init_iterator:
sqlite3_prepare failed: ORDER BY term number 1 does not match any result column

  md   main:CRITICAL:2010-04-06 16h40.30 EDT:23584: handle_sigabrt: abort

I appear to be running versins 1.0.0-beta5, which I downloaded from the links
on the front page:

  s...@openvas-scanner-vlan2:~$ sudo gsad --version
  gsad 1.0.0-beta5.SVN.r
  Copyright (C) 2009 Greenbone Networks GmbH

  s...@openvas-scanner-vlan2:~$ sudo openvasmd --version
  openvasmd (openvasmd) 1.0.0-beta5.SVN.r with db 14 for Linux-2.6.24-23-xen
  Copyright (C) 2009 Greenbone Networks GmbH

do I just want the trunk versions?
