thanks. I tried installing the openvas-scanner-3.0.0 seeing your reply
thread. However the build fails with the following issue:

attack.o(.text+0x94): In function `attack_init_hostinfos':
: undefined reference to `hg_valid_ip_addr'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [openvassd] Error 1

Any idea on how to fix this ?
