Hi Marek,
nice to see another gentoo friend there,
Which libgnutls are you using ?

i successfully used 2.8.6 and 2.10.4
but gnutls 2.12.18 and 2.12.20 were a nightmare, openvas5 was not working at all with omp.

Hi,

I have successfully installed openvas-5 on gentoo linux. I have:
openvas-scanner-3.3.1
openvas-cli-1.1.4
openvas-administrator-1.2.0
openvas-libraries-5.0.1
openvas-manager-3.0.1
greenbone-security-assistant-3.0.1

I created the certificates,
I ran openvas-nvt-sync,
I created the om user,
I created a user for myself,
I did openvasmd --rebuild
I ran the openvas-check-setup -v5 --server (result with filtered
listening servers attached)

Both openvasad and openvasmd start, but log a warning as below:
lib auth:WARNING:2012-06-29 08h18.43 CEST:20602: Authentication
configuration could not be loaded.

If I try to connect (gsad, gsd, omp) I have to wait about 8 minutes and then the connection is closed and client displays the message (Failed to
authenticate).

I turned the debugging on, and can see regular statements like "SELECT
value FROM meta WHERE name = 'update_nvti_cache';"

When connecting with any client something like this is logged:
