Eero when you compile the packages on Debian from source the startup scripts are not provided. No one has packaged OpenVAS 6 for Debian/Ubuntu yet as far as I know.
Once compiled you can start the services as follows from commandline: - The scanner by running 'openvassd', - the administrator 'openvasad', - the manager 'openvasmd' and - Greenbone Security Assistant (GSA) by running 'gsad –http-only –listen=[your IP] -p 9392' Hope this helps Alex On Thu, Apr 18, 2013 at 4:52 AM, Eero Volotinen <[email protected]>wrote: > Hi List, > > Just compiled openvas 6 on debian, and everything looks fine, but is there > instructions how to start compiled openvas on commandline?
