Try this:

openvasmd --update
openvasmd --migrate

Yes, but as mentioned in my other posting, that (along with other
attempts) did not work, and it seems others have had the same problem.

Do you have any idea what else could be done to try and fix this? Are
there any specific log files I can examine to troubleshoot?
