I am wondering how you usually use Openvas in your daily work.
For me I am really messing with a good workflow to use it on ~400 hosts.
Do
you use customized scan configs alot?
I tried a few, but I think that
it's really hard to get a good config per category of server that you
want to scan.
At the beginning i tried to do Windows Web, Linux Web
etc.
But i'ts really hard to get a good weight ratio on activated plugins against
the number of different configs that is created..
Making
the scan non intrusive is a problem too.
My operations team gets grumpy
when their fine services dies, even if I use 'safe_checks'. :)
I thought about doing the scans after a service windows for the systems, but
it's really hard to do one scanning task / system.
Any tips or other cool ideas?
