Hello OpenVAS users,
we have doubled again the RAM for the OpenVAS Feed Server and also
doubled the max_connections.
However, the monitoring shows still significant (over)load at
certain times.
We assume this is because there are many installations out there
using the same cron configuration. Probably because using the same
packaging.
The good message is: The number of package-based installations
is dramatically increasing :-)
If your installation is having problems to get the current feed,
the easiest solution is to change the time of sync in your cron job.
Any other time than the pre-configured time will do. The OpenVAS
Feed Server is without significant load 99% of the day. The 1%
are the few peaks where many users apply the same sync time.
All the best
Jan
